The challenge

A leading company in the vehicle components sector was facing a decisive reorganization. As part of a strategic realignment, it was necessary to break away from an existing group organization on the IT side. This challenge required not only a complete IT carve-out, but also a future-oriented reorganization of the IT infrastructure. The previous on-premise infrastructure was outdated, caused high maintenance costs and offered only limited scalability. There was also a desire for a more modern working environment that could be used efficiently and flexibly.

The solution

Netpoint recommended a comprehensive migration to the cloud in order to future-proof the infrastructure. The approach comprised several phases: Proof-of-Concept (PoC): A PoC was conducted at a critical site to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of the new environment. Cloud migration: All key services were then migrated from the existing on-premise infrastructure to a modern, cloud-based environment. Operations: Following successful implementation, Netpoint took over the ongoing operation of the IT services, including monitoring and support. This approach not only enabled technological advantages, but also led to considerable cost savings.

The result

The IT infrastructure for 1,500 users was successfully migrated within seven months. The carve-out and cloud migration went smoothly, with minimal disruption to operations. Thanks to the close collaboration with Netpoint, the transformation was implemented efficiently - and the company now benefits from a flexible, scalable and future-proof IT environment.
